Meet Baltimore Bred Singer/Songwriter Mahogany Fame

IMG_0591

Some people spend most of their lives trying to figure out their purpose and what they were meant to do. Others were born into their craft with a passion that drives them to do one thing and one thing only. There is a freedom that comes with knowing your purpose and singer Mahogany Fame has ALWAYS known what that was. I spoke with the young starlet and we chatted about music being her therapy, her dream collaborations, how she deals with naysayers and more. Check out my interview with her below. More Chatter

Dad Uses Social Media to Discipline Daughter

10-year-old-Janiya-550x587

I would imagine that disciplining children and setting boundaries in a world where they can hop on the internet and social media from anywhere is a difficult feat for parents in 2014. Her lies ultimately resulted in her engaging with much older boys on social media. So he used that same platform to discipline her. He took pictures of his daughter looking like the 10 year old she is and posted them on Facebook. More Chatter

TLC Cancels “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” Amidst Child Endangerment Rumors

ap391213239659

I’m all for second chances but there are some things that just are what they are. In my book child molestation is one of them. TLC feels the same way. The network cancelled the hit reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after they learned the child star’s mother is dating a man who is a registered sex offender. According to TMZ, Mama June’s current boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, was charged with aggravated child molestation back in 2004 for “forcing oral sex on an 8-year-old child.” More Chatter

Mona Scott-Young Arise 360

The Love & Hip Hop franchise produced by mogul Mona Scott-Young has traveled from New York to Atlanta and now to Hollywood pulling in millions of viewers since it’s inception in 2011. But for as many viewers as it has, it also has its detractors. Some people despise the show, VH1 and Mona-Scott Young because of what they feel are negative depictions of African-Americans. Although the show’s cast made a choice to be a part of the series, some feel that they are being exploited by Mona and VH1 to basically play themselves on TV.
